Dear f*r. Dunn:

SUPJECT:

INADVERTENT SAFETY INJECTION DURING C00LDOWN The Division of Operating Reactors has conpleted a generic bounding review on this subject and concludes that no further licensing action is necessary at this time since it is likely that a facility could withstand more than fifty inadvertent ECC3 actuations. We have concluded, however, that it would be prt; dent, should a facility experience more than twenty-five such injections, for ycu to conaider a plant specific analysis for that facility which would identify more precisely the additional number of actuations that can be safely accomodated at that facility.

A copy of our Safety Evaluation Report is enclosed.

Sincerely, Original signed by A. ScNencer, Chief Operating Reactors Branch #1 Division of Operating Reactors
