This report provides information relating to radioactive effluent releases and solid radioactive vaste disposal operatiens of the Palisades Plant during the period of July through Dece=ber 1979 in the for=at centained in plant Technics 1 Specification Section 6.9.3 1.A.

1.

Surele= ental Information a.

Batch Peleases Infor=ation relating to batch releases of liquid and gaseous effluents is provided in Table 1.

b.

Abnomal Releases Cne abnormal gaseous release occurred during the reporting period totaling 0.569 Curies. The release a=ounted to less than 35 of the total gaseous releases during the reporting period. The =axi=u= dise to off-site populations fro = this release is calculated to be less than 0.0002 cre=.

No release limits were exceeded.

2.

Gaseous Effluents Table 2a presents a sc==ary of all gasecus radicactive ef fluents released during the period. Release totals for ea:h radienuclide determined to be present in gasecus effluents are contained in Table 2b.

The unidentified portien of the total release was 0.0009% of the total release.

3 licuid Effluents Table 3a presents a s -~/ of all liquid radioactive effluents released during the period. Release totals for each radienuclide deter =ined to be present in liquid effluents are contained in Table 3b.

The unidentified portion of the total release was 0.01", of the total release.

L.

Solid Waste Quantities of solid vaste shipped off-site and the dispcsition of these ship =ents are presented in Table L.

5 Radiological Iract en Man

?ctential doses to individuals and populations were calculated using effluent data centained in Tables 2 and 3, and the dose conversion facters contained in the February / March 1979 Appendix sub=ittal.

Total body and significant organ deses to individuals in unrestricted a.

areas frc= receiving water-related expcsure pathways were calculated to be less than 1 =illire=.

b.

The marimu= off-site air doses due to beta and gs==a radiation at loca-tiens near ground level frc= gaseous effluents vere calculated to be less than 1 millirad.

Organ doses to individuals in unrestricted areas from radioactive iodine c.

and radioactive material in particulate fem frem the major pathways of exposure were calculated to be less than 1 millires for any organ.

d.

Total body doses to the populatien and average doses to individuals in the pcpulation frem receiving water-related pathways to a distance of 50 miles frem the site were calculated to be less than 1 manrem and 1 millires, respectively, Total body doses to the population an:1 average doses to individuals in e.

the population frem gaseous effluents to a distance of 50 miles frem the site were calculated to be less than 1 =anres and millire=, res-pectively.
