Thank you for your letter of August 20, 1980 regarding the apparent items of non-

compliauce and deviations concerning activities under NRC License Nos. NPF-4 and

NPF-7 brought to your attention in our letter of July 21, 1980. Your response was

discussed with R. B. Sylvia by telephone on September 5,1980. Mr. Sylvia agreed

to submit a supplemental response by September 19, 1980, regarding corrective act-

ions for these items.

We have reviewed your letter of July 21, 1980, in reference to the inspection

conducted at North Anna Power Station on April 14 - May 30, 1980, and reported

in IE Inspection Report Nos. 50-338/80-19 and 50-339/80-20. Our responses to

the specific infractions are attached.

We acknowledge that the submittal of this response is beyond the twenty day

period soecified in your letter.

Due to delays encountered while performing

final revisions to ensare the responses were as complete as possible, the

submittal was detained.

We have determined that no proprietary information is contained in the reports.

Accordingly, the Virginia Electric and Power Company has no objection to these

inspection reports being made a matter of public disclosure.
