Provisional Construction Permit No. CPPR-40 is enclosed, together with a copy of a related notice which has been forwarded to the Office of the Federal Register for filing and publication.
The construction permit authorizes the Metropolitan Edison company to construct a pressurized water nuclear reactor, designated as the Three Mile Island Nuclear Station on the Company's site on Three Mile Island in the Susquehanna River in Londonderry Township, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, approximately ten miles southeast of Harrisburg, Pennsyl-vania.
The construction permit has been issued pursuant to the Initial Decision of the Atomic Safety and Licensing Board. A copy of the decision has already been sent to you.
