Dear the Diablo,
SU.it g that It is of gr e af./c o n ce r n to us here at Canyon Nuclear Power Plant may be granted an operating license within the ne xt few weeks.
We are co nce r ne d about the safety of this plant due to testimony by geologic-se ismic e xpe rt s.
These experts feel that the close proximity of the Hosgri Fault and the possibility o f a major earthquake create grave doubts a's to the ability of Diablo to withstand such an e ve nt.
In addition to this danger, the re have been a number of questions ra i se d as to t.h e quality of construction in various areas of the plant..
In addition to the problem of an earthquake i ndu ce d accident i
at the Diablo Canyon site,. add it ional concern remains eve r the unresolved questions regarding nu cle a r waste disposal anc the l
hazards of low level radiation.
7/ e urge you to se riou sly consider these p r o b le m s.
Please prote ct the pe o p le of California and take w h a *. e v e r action you can to disuade the Atomic Safety and Licensing Board from granting an operating lice nse to the Diablo Canyon Nuclear Power Plant.
Thank you.
