Dear Mr. Hamzehee:
By letter dated February 14, 2019 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML19045A700), as supplemented September 3, 2019 (ADAMS Accession No. ML19247E271), Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E) submitted the Humboldt Bay Independent Spent Fuel Storage Installation Quality Assurance Plan to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) for approval in accordance with License Condition 14 of Special Nuclear Material License Number 2514 (SNM-2514). The NRC staff performed an acceptance review of your application and determined it contains sufficient technical information in scope and depth to allow the staff to complete a detailed technical review.
We have established a schedule for the review and estimated that the staff may need approximately 75 hours8.680556e-4 days <br />0.0208 hours <br />1.240079e-4 weeks <br />2.85375e-5 months <br /> to complete its review. The schedule allows for the staff to issue a request for additional information (RAI) in February 2020 and, if a second RAI is not needed, an approved Quality Assurance Plan in May 2020, based on you responding to the first RAI in March 2020. In general, no additional changes to the application should be submitted except for changes resulting from your response to a RAI.
