Dear Sir:

Our area's experiences with the problems of the North Anna nuclear nlant are enough to take one won-der about the whole concept of nuclear energy.

The photogrsph of the excavation before con-struction began, for example, reveals a fault line so large that any construction would seem an iffy proposition, let alone a massive nuclear plant and its accompanying large can made lake.

And the more recent revelations that the soil tvne has cermitted uneven settling of intortant rarts of the nuclear riant's ocerating equir ent like the rumn house have been even core disturbing. Soil tests, if indeed they took place, surely were sorely inadequate.

Needless to say, we rely upon you and your Atomic Safety and licensing Appeal Board to refuse any increase in 7EPCO's " allowable sett1= ent" and to nola a nearing tnat w111 : axe clear to tne rublic the settlement conditions and risks beneath all Eorth Anna buildinas. And we urge you to investi-gate delays in reporting settling to the A 0=ic Safety and Licensing Board.

Sincerely, ps.- %:
