Let me take this oppor.tunity.to express my cont.inuing concern abou.t the fact that.the Diablo Canyon Nucleast Plant is Located on the Hosgri earthquake fault.
When we a.re dealing with anything as volatile and explosive as the plutonium used to produce nuclear-power, it should be handled with the maximum of safeguards.
I certainty cannot consider placement a a nuctest power plant on an earthquake fault to be azimum safeguard.

sible.to completely ear.thquake-proof a. nuclear facility built an a f ault.
I.t behooves me to remind.the committee tha.t it is responsible for the health and saf ety of the public.
1.t certainly does no.t seem to me to oe a responsible decision to place a nuclear f acLLay on an earthquake fault.
