Dear Ms. Bowers :
May I voice my opinion?
I as convinced that an oper9 ting license for the Diablo Canyon nuclear power plant would be detrimental to the lives of humanity.
I work at the Valley Medical Center in San Jose and see more and more cases of asformity and cancer.
That awful cancer is spreadin6 like a
$ rl, Sonia Valencia, pla6ue' Right now a thirteen year old 1
is dying of it only thirteen and has been a burn patient in the hospital, in and out, fo r eight years... and now sne i s t o ld.... w e ll, it is just too shocking to =e.
And the pediatric's teacher, Sea Koinstinen, just died in November f rom ca ncer.
A 28 yr old relative in no rtne rn Idaho is dying of it Do we need to add to add to the increase of these hazards by allowing nuclear plants to operate.'
We all know that there is absolutely no solution to the disposal of radioa.ctive wastes.
I listen to the Larry King Talk snow and his experts all admit this NO Solution.
Let us Bet back to a simpler life of conservation and the u se of energy that is safe for everyone.
Are we go Lng to rush pell mell, like the lemmin6s, to the earth's destruction?
And throw-in6. persons into jail for non-violent demonstrations is certainly not the answer.
Not by might, not by power, but by Spiritd....
