Dear Mr. Keppler:

On January 11, 1980, Mr. S. J. Brewer of Public Service Company of Indiana, Inc. (PSI) telephoned your office to notify you of a potentially reportable incident as required by 10CTR50.55(e). The following report resolved that item and constitutes a final report under the Regulation.

In their November 7, 1979 letter (NS-IMA-2150) to your Mr. Stello, Westinghouse reported the existence of an undetectable failure in their Engir.eered Safety Features Actuation System and described the possible consequenc.es of such a failure. That letter also contained the Westinghouse recocmended corrective actions. Appropriate actions, which consist of additional testing procedures, will be incorporated into our station operating procedures prior to fuel load.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

Sincerely,

, /
