APPENDIX A NOTICE OF VIOLATION Yankee Atomic Electric Company Docket No.50-029 This refers to the inspection conducted by representatives of the Region I (Philadelphia) office at the Yankee Nuclear Power Station, Rowe, Massachusetts, of activities authorized by NRC License No. DPR-3.
During this inspection conducted February 13-16, 1979, the following apparent item of noncompliance was identified. This item is an infraction.
10 CFR 50.55a(g)(4) states in part, that:
"Throughout the service life of a... nuclear power facility, components... shall meet the requirements
... set forth in Section XI of editions of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code..."Section XI of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, paragraph IWV-3410(a), Test Frequency, states in part, that:
" Category A and B valves shall be exercised at least once every 3 months...."
Contrary to the above, the Category B valves listed in OP-4705, Revision 1, were not exercised from August 8,1978 to February 16, 1979.
