NRC STAFF RESPONSE TO CESG REQUESTS TO PRODUCE OF NOVEMBER 16, 1978 On November 16, 1978, Carolina Environmental Study Group (CESG) directed a " Request to Produce" to the NRC Staff and the Applicant.

The request sought copies of all correspondence rent by the Applicant to the NRC Staff in connection with this matter and identified certain particular correspondence. By its letters of November 13, 1978 and November 14, 1978 to Counsel for the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC), the Staff forwarded copies of all Staff-originated correspondence to the parties in this proceeding.

It is the ur.derstanding of the Staff that the Applicant has similarly forwarded copi of correspondence which it has originated to the parties in this proceeding. Therefore, it appears that this request to produce is satisfied.

By an additional " Request to Produce" dated November 16, 1978, CESG requested a copy of the June 2,1978 study pertaining to the subject of 790206011G

cast c.nd exposare estimates..'nich w.s the su; ject of a l;avemcer 7, 1973 note to files by B. Spitalny.

This document was forwarded to CESG under cover of the Staff's Novembr:r 13, 1978 letter to NRDC Counsel.

Additionally, CESG requests copies of all written clarifications of said study and all notes and calculations pertaining to said study.

While documents of this nature may be in the possession of the licensee, Duke Power Co., and thus are appropriately sought from the licensee, the NRC Staff has no documents of this description in its possession.

Thus, the Staff considers this request to produce satisfied insofar as it is directed to the NRC Staff.

Accordingly, these two motions should be dismissed as moot.

Respectfully submitted,f/
