SUBJECT:
PETITION TO REV0KE THE SEABROOK CONSTRUCTION PERMIT A petition to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission to revoke the construction permit of Seabrook was sent from Denver, Colorado to the Clamshell Alliance in Portsmouth, New Hampshire on February 15, 1979.
The Clamshell Alliance forwarded the petition to Region I on March 22, 1979.
It was received in Region I March 26, 1979.
The petition bears the names of 25 individuals.
Receipt of this petition in Region I was discussed in preliminary notification PN-NRC:I-37 and in the Daily Report for March 28, 1979.

The subject petition is forwarded with this memorandum for appropriate action.

1.
No safe and responsible method has been developed to store nuclear was te.
The effects of nuclear wastes have been proven hamful to people, causing cancer and genetic damage.
2.
We do not want to be exposed to low-level radiatien emissions, such as has occurred at Vemon, Vement, where a sinilar r.uclear power plant has been built. The cumulative effect of low-level radiation has been proven to cause cancer and genetic damage.
3 The cooling system of the proposed Seabrook plant has not been proven safe for the environment.
