_gl Leakage was observed on both the 2A and 2B pur..p suction drain linas. These valves [ i l were lochd shut; however, the end cap was missir.g on 2A and was leaking by on 2B. ] [ A quantity of bo.ite crystals was noted on the floor in both locations. Due to l s t ra ti fication in the storage tank, it was determined that a higher than average l ,;3 l concentration was leaking at these points. 600 pounds of boric acid and (Con't) J 33 l no n (y] IA I e ns t, ,ur ra, .on_ G g3 [0 {0 [0 [, } "A ] l_._B L' ]. 6 LER CONTII'UATION -- ROM 2-79-042 Facility: BSEP Unit No. 2 Event Date: 6-6-79 600 pounds of borax vere added along with water to bring the solution to 3500 gallons with a concentration of 14.27. Both lines were capped and checked for leakage. The isolation valves on these lines will be worked during the next outage of sufficient duration. An entry in the daily instructions has instructed all operators to be aware of possibla leaks in the SLC system and to inspect the systen for such leaks on a contin-uing basis. This entry applies to both units. Unit No. 2 was in cold shutdown throughoug this incident. t. e e }}
