APPENDIX A NOTICE OF VIOLATION Cornecticut Yankee Atomic Power Company Docket No. 50-213 Based on the results of an NRC inspection conducted November 13-16, 1978, it appears that one of your activities was not conducted in full compliance with NRC regulations and the conditions of your license as listed below. This item is an infraction.
Technical Specification 6.13.1, in reference to high radiation areas in which the intensity of radiation is greater than 1000 mrem /hr, states, in part,
"...In addition, locked doors shall be provided to prevent unauthorized entry into such areas...."
Contrary)to the above, the entrances to the Residual Heat Removal Pit (RHR and the charging pump and metering pump cubicles in the Primary Auxiliary Building, where radiation levels are in excess of 1000 mrem /hr, as determined by inspection on November 15,1978, are contrclied by padlocked gates which are insufficiently high to prevt :t unauthorized entry.
