Gentlemen:
This refers to the meeting held at the Mississippi Power and Light Company
Corporate Office on October 3,1979 and the site visit to your Grand Gulf Nuclear
Facility. This meeting related to the activities authorized by NRC License
No. CPPR-118, and was attended by members of my staff and H. L. Stampley,
J. P. McGaughy, C. K. McCoy, L. Nail, H. Starling and T. E. Reaves of your company.
The subjects discussed at this meeting are included in the inspection report
which is enclosed with this letter.
It is our opinion that this meeting was beneficial and provided an opportunity
to establish a mutual understanding of our respective roles, as they relate to
the pre-operational and operational phases of the Grand Gulf facility.
In accordance with Section 2.790 of NRC's " Rules of Practice," Part 2, Title 10,
Code of Federal Regulations, a copy of this letter and the enclosed inspection
report will be placed in the NRC's Public Document Room.
No reply to this letter is required; however, should you have any questions
concerning this matter, we would be pleased to discuss them with you.
