h.h EWIRO:i:! ENTAL RADIOLOGIC /sL MONITORIE'l Obiective An environmental radiological monitoring program shall be conducted to verify that radioactive releases are within allovable limits and that station operations have na detrimental effect on the environment.

Specifications

a. Environmental samples shall be collected and analyzed according to Table 3 at the locations presented in "igures 3,h, 5, 6 and 7.
b. Reports shall be submitted in accordance with the requirements of Section 5.6 (Plant Reporting Requirements).
c. During the seasons that animals producing milk for human consumption are on pasture, samples of fresh milk vill be obtained monthly from these animals at locations presented in Table 3 and analyzed for their radiciodine content, calculatec as iodine-131. Analysis vill be carried out within eight da; a (one I-131 half-life) of sampling. Suitable analytical procedures will be used to determine the radiciodine concentration to a sensitivity of 0 5 picocurie per liter of milk at the time of sampling. For activity levels at or above 0 5 picoeurie per liter, the overall error (one sigma confidence level) of the analysis will be within 25%. Results (continued on Page 37) 1480 240
