, This will confirm a report to Mr. G. R. Jenkins of vour office at 1627 on 17 August 1979, that at 0600 17 August 1979, an unplanned release of radioactive liquid occurred vben the Turbine Building sump was pu: sped to the settling pond. This is contrary to ETS 2.4.1.A and is reported under the provi-siens of E75 5.6.2.A(2).

The esiculated activity for the 82,500 sailon composite sample

' was 1.22 MPC's with a total activity of 525 uc.

The hesich and saf ety of the plant and genersi public were not endangered as a result of this event.

A detailed report of this event will follow within fourteen (14) days.
