SUMMARY
OF B&W PLANT INSPECTIONS 4/10/79 Region I:
TMI-l - Shutdown Region II:
Crystal River -
Operating at 75% power with one RCS pump shut down due to seal leakage.
35 of 41 operators on shift have been briefed by NRC.
Inspectors initiated a review of the licensee's transient analyses.
Oconee -
All three units operating at 100% power.
Licensee personnel are scheduled to attend B&W simulator to review iMI transient.
Inspectors interviewed 19 reactor operators and senior operators on all three shifts.
Region III:
Davis-Besse -
Shutdown for maintenance and surveillance testing.
55 members of the staffs of Technical Support, Maintenance, Instrumentation and Control, and Operators were briefed by NRC. Two more briefings by NRC are required and are scheduled for April 10 and 11,1979.
Region IV:
Arkansas Nuclear One, Unit 1 -
Shutdown for refueling.
Plant heatup is scheduled to commence 4/29/79; reactor startup on 5/4/79 and power ascension on 5/7/79.
The licensee has completed the required training for all Unit 1 operators.
12 operators were briefed by NRC.
Region V:
Rancho Seco -
Operating at 100% power.
Licensee revisions to procedures are in final draft.
No. changes were required in containment isolation design and procedures.
Only eight licensed personnel remain to be briefed by NRC.
