REPORTABLE OCCURREI:CE 250-79-16 LICENSEE EVENT REPORT PACE TWO Additional Event Description At the time of the event, the level indications in the control Roon were 326,800 gallons (Digital meter LI-3-15450) and 325,000 gallons (gase LI-3-1545). Level was determined by a permanently installed precision local gage as being 315,323 gallons, which is less than the TS 3.4.1.a.1 minimum of 320,000 Gallons. Load was reduced during the occurrence from 100% to 84% reactor power before the RUST volume specification could be reestablished.

Additional Cause Description The calibration of the level transmitter and indicators was checked and adjusted as required. LI-3-1545 is a wide-range Bailey Type PM indicator sage.

Calibration verification revealed no error, and it is probable tint this ga6e was mis-read.

LI-3-1545D ic a digital meter with a P-I converter. Calibration verification revealed approximately 2.4% error in this vol6me range. Pressure switches PS-3-1585 (RWST hi-level alarm, setpoint: 330,000 gallons) and PS-3-1584 (RWST TS minimum level, setpoint: 322,200 gallons) were checked and it was noted that their sotpoints had drif ted low. Operators will be instructed to compara the weekly calibration check reading of RWST-1 (precision local gage) to the indication provided by LI *-1545 and LI *-1545D.

A design review of the RWST level indication has been initiated.
