Orr.3 g MEMORANDUM FOR:
Isaac Kirk, Chief, Automated Systems Branch Office of Management and Program Analysis FROM:
Frank J. Congel, Leader, Radiological Impact Section Radiological Assessment Branch, DSE, NRR THRU:
Thomas D. Murphy, Chief, Radiological Assessment Branch Division of Site Safety & Environmental Analysis, NRR
SUBJECT:
OUTSIDE AUTHORIZATION ACCOUNT FOR USE OF NIH COMPUTER FACILITIES This memorandum requests that one of our contractors, Robert Lundy of Argonne National Laboratory (ANL), be given authorization to use funds in an NRC computer account with the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
Dr. Robert Lundy of ANL is currently under contract (FIN No. A-2059) with NRC to develop a computer program called DEMPAK.
Since revised versions of DEMPAK are being generated frequently, and since several members of my staff use these preliminary versions of DD1PAK, we request that Dr. Lundy be given an account to place updated versions of the DEMPAK computer program on tapes at NIH.
Funds in this account will not be used to develop DEMPAK.
Instead, the account will be used for two purposes:
(1) to put DEMPAK on tape for input into the NIH compu-ter; and (2) to teach several menbers of my staff how to use the DEMPAK program.
We have discussed this matter with John Badini of your staff and with Dr. Lundy.
Dr. Lundy has ir. formed us that ANL's computer hardware systems (i.e., tenninals and printers) are compatible with the NIH computer.
We request that you temporarily assign a new account number, new initials, a new keyword and a new remote terminal number for Dr.
Lundy's use.
Funds charged to the account should not exceed $1000 over the next year.
