This refers to your request dated November 8, 1979, for an extension of time for completion of Item 3 of IE Bulletin 79-14.
Specifically, you have requested that you be granted an extension of time for verifying four (4) hangers on RHR piping until the next refueling outage which is scheduled to begin approximately mid-March 1980.
This request is based on the need to remove the drywell head in order to inspect this section of piping.
Since these four (4) hangers represent only approximately.277. of the hangers inspected thus far and since your inspection results have been satisfactory, this request is granted with the understanding that prior to reactor startup after refueling these hangers will have been inspected and that your Architect-Engineer will have completed the final review of the associated icometric drawings.
I In addition you requested an extension of time, until February 29, 1980, for the completion of your Architect-Engineer's assessment of those isosatric drawings resulting from the inspections already performed. The reason for this request is that due to the industry-wide shortage of pipe stress analysists that additional time is needed to complete the analysis.
This request is also granted.
