This office has received a copy of your letter dated August 23, 1979 (79-169) which transmitted your Simulator Retraining Program to the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation (0NRR) for review and approval.
The program is for the Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station.
The request was not accompanied by an approval fee as prescribed by Section 170.22 of 10 CFR Part 170.
Requests for approvals such as your August 28 submittal should be classified in the same manner as applications for license amendments.
Section 170.12(c) requires that your Company provide a determination of the amendment (approval) class, state the basis therefor, and submit the fee with your request for the approval or amendment.
Based on guidance from the ONRR staff as a result of their preliminary review of your August 23 submittal, it has been determined that it requires a Class II amendment fee because it involves consideration of a matter that is administrative in nature. Therefore, it is requested that a fee of $1,200 be fomarded to this office.
If final review of your application by the ONRR staff reveals that this fee determination is incorrect, you will be refunded any overpayment or billed for any additional amount due.
