Dear Mr. and !1rs. Coleman:

This letter is sent to acknowledge receipt of your petition dated October 18, 1979, requesting that the Commission issue an order to show cause why the construction pennits for Salem Unit 2 and Hope Creek Units 1 and 2, and the operating license for Salem Unit should not be suspended or revoked.

The basis of your request is alleged violations of the Endangered Species Act of 1973.

Your petition has been referred to the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation because the subject matter of the petition is within the jurisdiction of that office.

Your petition is being treated under 10 CFR 2.206 of the Commission's regulations, and accordingly, appropriate action will be taken on your petition within a reasonable time.

I enclose for your information a copy of the notice that is being filed for publication with the Office of the Federal Register.
