APPENDIX A NOTICE OF VIOLATION Franklin and Marshall College Docket No. 30-13598 Lancaster, Pennsylvania 17604 License No. 37-11185-03 Based on the results of an MRC inspection conducted on March 30, 1979, it appears that certain of your activities were not conducted in full compliance with NRC regulations and the conditions of your license as indicated below:
A.
Condition 13 of your license requires that you test your sealed sources containing byproduct material for leakage and/or contamin-ation at intervals not to exceed six months.
Contrary to this requirement, as of the date of the inspection, March 30, 1979, you had not testod your sealed scurce containing 10 millicuries of Cobalt-C] for contamination or leakage since it was received two years ago.
This is an infraction.
B.
10 CFR 20.203(f)(1) an. (2), requires that each container of licensed material bear a durable, clearly visible label bearing the radiation caution symbol and the words " Caution, Radioactive Material," and identiff the radioactive cantents.
Contrary to this requirement, on the day of the inspection, March 30, 1979, a shielded container holding 10 millicuries of Cobalt-60 was not labeled as required.
This item is a deficiency.
