FRANKLIN and MARSHALL COLLEGE LANCASTER, PENNSYLVANIA 17604 omCE of ttw FRE3IDENT May 15, 1979
Dear Mr. McClintock:
This letter is written in reply to your letter regarding the inspection conducted on March 30, 1979, by Mr. P. Jer=an and the attached notice of violation.
Mr. Jerman's inspection was thorough and professionally done, and we are appreciative of his efforts to help us maintain strict and careful control of radioactive sources.
With regard to Item A, a procedure has been established to schedule regular testing of sealed sources containing radioactive materials for contamination er leakage to insure that regular testing will occur within prescribed intervals. All such sources in the College's possession have been tested, and the College is now in full compliance with condition 13.
With regard to item B, a proper label has been attached to the shielded container holding the sealed source, and the College is now in full compliance with 10 CFR 20.203 (f) (1) and (2).
Dr. Hood will regularly review the College's performance vis-a-vis NRC requirements to insure that the College continues its use and storage of radioactive materials in full ccepliance with those requirements.
