NUCLEAR INCIDENT AT THREE MILE ISLiND l

Operational:

1.

The average coolant temperature is 155 degrees F and the highest incore thermocouple temperature reading is 273 degrees F.

Core cooling is being maintained by natural circulation. Pressure is about 350 psi with the prenurizer in solid operation. Steam is being admitted to the main con-denser through the turbine bypass valve from the A Steam Generator.

2.

Reactor building water level is being measured daily, and is now 7.01 0.5 feet above floor level.

This lower than p: eviously reported level is due to refinement of the measurec:e_it technique, and does not reflect an acutal level decrease.

3.

Preoperational testing for the Spent Fuel Pool Tank farm, once-Through Steam Generator "B" I.ong-Term Cooling System, the modified radwaste treatment system (EPICOR), and the pressure / volume control system pro-gressed slowly during the past week due to various operational / procurement problems eccounte red.

The testin3 may be completed within the next two weeks.

Environmental Status:

Environmental radiation levels remain consistent with natural background levels. Airbcrue releases have been beluw Technical Specification limits.

From J.me 11-17, 42 air samples, 2 milk samples, 4 vegetation samples and 2 soil samples were collected by the NRC.

All analytical results were less than MDA. EPA air, water and milk.tamples collected during the week (up to June 15) showed no detectable activity from THI.
