Dear You had recently expressed interest in the sta:
us of activities at the General Electric Company's Vallecitos Nuclear Center under License No. SNM-960 issued by the Comission. The Friends of the Earth and others had requested that the Comission suspend this License and order removal of all plutonium from the Vallecitos site. For the reasons given in the attached Decision, the Director of Nuclear Material Safety and Safeguards has denied these requests.
A copy of the Director's Decision will be placed in the Comise icn's Public Document Room at 1717 H Street, N. W., Washington, D. C. 20555 and at the local reading room for the Vallecitos Nuclear Center located at the Nuclear Regulatcry Comission, Region V, Office of Inspecticn and Enforcement,1990 N. California Boulevard, Suiue 202, Walnut Creek, California 94596. A copy will also be filed with the Secretary of the Comission for review in accordance with 10 CFR 2.206(c) of the Comission's regulations.
