In response to NRC IE Bulletin 79-11, the lower reactor vessel head insulation and associated support system is supported from a frame supported from the vessel itself in the area around the nozzles.

Large washer type fittinas are provided around the guide tubes to allow for thermal expansion.

The guide tubes are not used to support the insulation and associated support system.
