Dear Mr. Lundvall:
By letter dated January 17,197, we requested that Baltimore Gas and Electric Company submit an evaluation of a postulated fuel handling accident in the Reactor Containment Building of Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Power Plant, Units Nos.
I and 2.
The potential consequences of an accident involving the handling of spent fuel inside containment;had not been analyzed previously for the facility. By letter dated March 21, 1977, you submitted that accider.t analysis which we have now reviewed.
Our calculations show that the potential consequences of the spent fuel handling accident may be greater than your estimates.
Our calculations do show, however, that the potential consequences of this accident are appropria+.ely within the exposure guidelines of 10 CFR Part 100, and are therefore acceptable.
