20555 BRUNSWICK STEAM ELECTRIC PLANT UNIT NOS. 1 AND 2 LICENSE NOS. DPR-71 fND DPR-62 DOCKET NOS. 50-325 AND 50-324 IE BULLETIN 79-01: ENVIRONMENTALLY UNQUALIFIED LIMIT SICTCHES
Dear Mr. Ippolito:
This letter is a follow-up to our September 13, 1979 report of environmentally unqualified limit switches in use at our Brunswick Steam Electric Plant (BSEP) Unit Nos. 1 and 2.
Our September 13 report stated that the BSEP Main Steam Isolation Valves' (MSIVs) limit switches would be replaced with qualified switches as soon as they could be procured.
Your scaff verbally requested that Carolira Power & Light Corpany (CP&L) commit to install these switches no later than the next refueling outage on each unit. CP&L hereby commits to install environmentally qualified limit switches on the MSIVs during the upcoming refueling outages on BSEP Units 1 and 2, presently scheduled for Spring, 1980.
The~new switches are NAMCO Model 740-50100 and they meet the criteria of IEEE-323 1974, IEEE-344 1975, and IEEE-382 1972. CP&L plans to purchase a copy of the test results and a certificate of qualification for these switches.
We trust that this information is satisfactory for your use.
Yours very truly,
