Three Mile Island Nuclear Station Unit 1 (TMI 1)
Operating License No. DPR-50 Dceket No. 50-289 In accordance with the TMI-l Environmental Technical Specifications Section 5.6.2.h (Ite: #2, concerning changes =ade in er proposed for permits and/or licenses) enclosed please find the recently issued NPDES Permit A=endments No.1 & 2 as well as EPA letters dated June 22 and June 28, 1977 authorizing Met-Ed's use of NALC0 kl-L as a corrosien inhibitor in all TMI Closed Cooling Systems.
It is our estimation that because HALCO hl-L will be used only in closed syste=s, and because any leakage frc= these syste=s veuld be treated prior to discharge, the environmental impact of the above-=entioned use of NALCO hl-L will be negligible. It is also our estimation that because the enclosed permit amend =ents have been issued by the proper regulating authcrity after the appropriate review, these permit atendments vill also have a negligible environ = ental impact.
