SEQUOYAH NUCLEAR PLANT UNITS 1 MER:2 - REACTOR COOLANT SYSTEM EXCEEDED HEATUP AND C00LDOWN RATES - NCR'S 12P AND l'3P - SECOND INTERIM REPORT The subject deficiency was laitially reported to NRC-0IE Inspector H. C. Dance on August 9,1979, in accordance with 10 CFR 50.55(e).

An interim report was submitted on September 4, 1979. We expect to submit our next report by December 10, 1979.

Westinghouse and TVA are evaluating the accelerated heating and cooling of small local regions of the loop 2 hot leg and the pres-surizer. Westinghouse has concluded that safe operation of unit 1 during startup will not be jeopardized.
