SU! NARY OF OPERATING EXPERIENCE UNIT TWO SEPTEMBER, 1979 9-1 to 9-30 Unit 2 operated continuously during the month of September at an average load of 806.4 MWe, with a capacity factor of 93.5.

No significant problems were noted during this operating period.

SUMMARY

OF OPERATING EXPERIENCE UNIT T11REE SEPTEMBER, 1979 9-1 to 9-30 Unit 3 sta ted the month operating at an average power level of 600 MWe.

On September 22 at 0215, Unit 3 was taken of f line for a routine snubber inspection. During the ensuing shutdown, the unit scrammed at 0320, due to closure of the main steam line isolation valves which was caused by the reactor mode switch contacts not being fully made up.

During the outage, no inopera-tive snubbers were found, thereby changing the inspection interval to 18 months versus 12 months.

The unit was placed on the line at 0120 on September 25 and operated the remainder of the month at an average power level of 445.7 MWe with a capacity factor of 59.9.

Unit 3 is limited administratively to 550 MWe for air ejector activity evaluation.
