APPENDIX A NOTICE OF VIOLATION Baltimore Gas and Electric Company Docket Nos. 50-317/318 Based on the results of an NRC inspection conducted on May 21-25, 1979, it appears that one of your activities was not conducted in full compliance with NRC regulations as indicated below.
Item A is a deficiency.

10 CFR 20.203, "Cautior. si "Each area or room in which licensed material is used or stored and which contains any radioactive material (other than natural uranium or thorium) in an amount exceeding 10 times the quantity of such materials specified in Appendix C of this part shall be conspicuously posted with a sign or signs bearing the radiation caution symbol and the words: CAUTION, RADI0 ACTIVE MATERIAL (S)."
Contrary to the above requirement are the following examples:
1.
On May 21, 1979 a trailer used to store low level radioactive waste in an amount exceeding 10 times the quantity of such material specified in Appendix C of 10 CFR 20 and was not conspicuously posted with signs bearing the radiation caution symbol and the words:
CAUTION, RADI0 ACTIVE MATERIAL (S).
2.
On May 22, 1979 the unit 1 spent fuel pool had spent fuel stored in an amount exceeding 10 times the quantity of such material specified in Appendix C of 10 CFR 20 and was not conspicuously posted with signs bearing the radiation caution symbol and the words:
CAUTION, RADI0 ACTIVE MATERIAL (S).
3.
On May 24, 1979 a storage pad west of the units 1 and 2 auxiliary building had radioactive components stored in an amount exceeding 10 times the quantity of such material specified in Appendix C of 10 CFR 20 and was not conspicuously posted with signs bearing the radiation caution symbol and the words:
- CAUTION, RADI0 ACTIVE MATERIAL (S).
