a report was made under the provisions On September 20, 1979, of 10CFR50.55(e) concerning an apparent casting defect in the shaft bearing housi_ng for the North Anna Unit 3 Auxiliary Feed Pump Motor 3AF-P2A.

that showed a defect in the casting for the lower reser-Visual voir of shaft drive end bearing on motor 3AF-P2A.
inspection of three other similar motors shows a possible defect in North Anna Unit 4 ',aotors 4AF-P2A and 4AF-P2B.

The vendor has been notified and a representative is scheduled to provide on-site inspection to determine corrective action to be taken.
