Dear Congressman Hughes:
This is in response to your letter of May 29, 1979 to Chairman Hendrie, regarding the Oyster Creek Nuclear Generating Station fer your use in responding to Robert A. Gasser's letter of May 22, 1979.
Mr. Gasser's letter questions the failure of Jersey Central Power &
Light Company (JCP&L) to inste.Il a recirculation pump trip as required by the NRC.
The recirculation pump trip was installed during the 1978 refueling outage (October 1978) and has been in use since that time.
You may assure your constituent that the NRC did "see fit to require and insure" that the recirculation pump trip was installed at the Oyster Creek Nuclear Generating Station and that JCP&L did install
