Dear Mr. Grier:
NRC INSPECTION REPORT 50-354/79-03 AND 50-355/79-03 NO. 1 AND 2 UNITS HOPE CREEK GENERATING STATION We have received and reviewed the report of your inspection conducted on April 16-19, 1979.
The report was transmitted with your letter of June 21, 1979 and received on June 26, 1979.
Our response to the item of noncompliance is as follows:
The subject inspection identified an infraction regarding the Primary Containment Contractor's (PDM) lack of capping piping penetrations, contrary to the requirements of PDM Field Storage Procedure, FSP-01.
The following corrective actions have been taken relative to this infraction:
1.
PDM issued CAR (Corrective Action Required) No. 22280 on April 19, 1979, to have all penetrations capped immediately.
Bechtel Quality Assurance personnel verified completion of penetration capping on May 14, 1979.
2.
in addition to the re-emphasis of penetration capping requirements to PDM perronnel, Bechtel Quality Assurance and Quality Control groups will emphasize this area during auditing and surveillance activities.
3.
Full compliance has been achieved, as evidenced by Bechtel verification of PDM's completed corrective actions on May 14, 1979.
