Areas examined during this inspection are described in the Regulatory

Operatiens Inspection Report trhich is enclosed *.ith this letter.

Within these areas, the inspection consis ted of selective ena-inations

of procedures and representative records, intervietts trich personnel.

During this inspection, it tras found that certain of vour activities

appeared to.be in violation of AEC requirements.

This letter ccastitutes a notice sent to vou

pursuant. :o the provisions of Section 2.201 of the AEC s " Rules

of Prac: ice", Part 2, Title 10, Code of Federal Regula:.icas.

Section 2.201 requires you to submit :o this office t:ithin 10 days

of your receipt of this notice, a written statement of explanation

in reply, including: (1) corrective steps which have been or vill

be taken by you, and the resu2ts achieved; (2) corrective s:eps

which will be :aken to avoid fur:her violations; and (3) the date

when full compliance rill be achieved.

In addition to the need

for corrective action regarding these specific deficiencies, ue

are concerned about the implementation of your caragement control

systens that pernitted these deficiencies to occur.
