Your letter dated May 2, 1979 transmitted to the Office of Nuclear Re&ctor Regulation (NRR) your proposed Inservice Inspection Program for the next 20-month period for Beaver Valley Unit No.1 (Facility License No. DPR-66).

It is our understanding that the NRR Staff will review the proposed program and issue their findings as to whether the program satisfies the requirements of 10 CFR 50.55a(g) and other current NRC guidance.

Consequently, your May 2 submittal is subject to the fee requirements of 10 CFR Part 170.

Submittals requiring review and approval for items relating to a particular power plant should be classified in the same manner as applicaticns for license amendments and fees determined and paid in accordance with 10 CFR 170.12 and 170.22.

Based on a preliminary review of your May 2 filing, we have determined that it involves consideration of a safety issue with acceptability for the issue clearly identified by 10 CFR 50.55a(g) and, as such, rec,uires a Class III fee of $4,000 which should be forwarded promptly to this office.

If after the final evaluation of your proposed program is completed it is determined that it was incorrectly classified, you will be refunded any overpayment or billed for any additional amount due.
