Mr. Zaremba, By letter dated April 5, 2018 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML18099A130), as supplemented by letter dated June 6, 2018 (ADAMS Accession No. ML18162A147),
Duke Energy Progress, LLC (the licensee) submitted a license amendment request (LAR) for H. B. Robinson Steam Electric Plant Unit No. 2. The proposed amendment would modify the licensing basis, by the addition of a License Condition, to allow for the implementation of the provisions of Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR), Section 50.69, "Risk-Informed categorization and treatment of structures, systems, and components for nuclear power reactors."
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff determined that additional information is needed to complete its review. A draft version of the enclosed RAIs were emailed to the licensee on February 25, 2019. A clarification call was held on March 7, 2019, between the NRC staff and the licensee. The licensee agreed to provide a response to the RAIs by May 6, 2019. The NRC staff agreed with this date. If you have any additional questions, please contact me at (301) 415-7410.
