REVISION NO. 26 OF CERTIFICATE OF COMPLIANCE NO. 9248, FOR THE MODEL NOS. SP-1 SP-2, AND SP-3 TRANSPORTATION PACKAGES
Dear Mr. Tate:
As requested by your letter dated December 12, 2018, enclosed is Certificate of Compliance No. 9248, Revision No. 26, for the Model No. SP-1 SP-2, and SP-3 transportation packages.
Changes made to the enclosed certificate are indicated by vertical lines in the margin. The staff's safety evaluation report is also enclosed.
Framatome Inc. is the registered certificate holder for these packages. The approval constitutes authority to use the packages for shipment of radioactive material and for the packages to be shipped in accordance with the provisions of Title 49 of the Code of Federal Regulations (49 CFR) 173.471. Those on the attached list have been registered as users of the packages under the general license provisions of 10 CFR 71.17 or 49 CFR 173.471.

SAFETY EVALUATION REPORT Docket No. 71-9248 Model No.s SP-1 SP-2, and SP-3 Certificate of Compliance No. 9248 Revision No. 26 EVALUATION By letter dated December 12, 2018, Framatome Inc. requested a five-year renewal of Certificate of Compliance No. 9248, for the Model Nos. SP-1 SP-2, and SP-3 transportation packages.
The certificate has been updated to Revision No. 26.
These changes do not affect the ability of the packages to meet the requirements of Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations Part 71.
CONDITIONS The following changes have been made to the certificate of compliance:
Condition 14 was revised to reflect the expiration date for Revision 25 of the certificate.
Condition 15 was updated to reflect the new expiration date.
The references section has been updated to include this name change request.
CONCLUSION Based on the statements and representations in the renewal request, the staff finds that these changes do not affect the ability of the package to meet the requirements of Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations Part 71.
