SURRY, UNITS 1 AND 2 - NRC BULLETIN 88-04, 11 POTENTIAL SAFETY-RELATED PUMP LOSS 11 (TAC Nos. 69979 AND 69980)
By letters dated July 11 and August 8, 1988, July 28, 1989 and June 18, 1990, you responded to NRC Bulletin 88-04, "Potential Safety-Related Pump Loss/ 1 for the Surry Power Station, Units 1 and 2.
Your response of June 18, 1990, con-firmed that the long-term actions associated with the issues in the bulletin (disassembly and inspection of one auxiliary feedwater (AFW) pump in each unit and the installation of larger minimum recirculation lines on all AFW pumps) will be completed during the end of the Cycle 10 outage for both units.
We understand that your present schedule for completion of the end-bf-Cycle 10 outages is the fourth quarter of 1990 (Unit 1) and the second quarter of 1991 (Unit 2).
In accordance with the bulletin, a written response describing the actions taken will be submitted to the NRC within 30 days of completion of the long-term actions.
You are reminded that an evaluation of your actions in re-sponse to this bulletin should be documented and maintained at the station for a minimum of 2 years.
Accordingly, your responses have addressed the issues in the bulletin, and we are closing the subject TAC numbers.
Further NRC review, if any, will be by future auditing.
