MEETING
SUMMARY
OF MARCH 29, 1989 - MEETING ON TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION AMENDMENT REGARDING THE INSERVICE TESTING AND INSERVICE INSPECTION PROGRAM A meeting was held with representatives of the Virginia Electric and Power Company (VEPCO) in Rockville, Maryland on March 29, 1989.
The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the licensee's submittals of August 20, 1985 and April 11, 1988 which describe their efforts to upgrade the Surry Units 1&2 inservice testing and inservice inspection programs to more fully conform with requirements of the Standard Technical Specifications (STS) and Section XI of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code and applicable Addenda.
A list of attendees is enclosed.
The meeting concluded with the following action items:
(1)
Both the staff and the licensee would evaluate the changes in the reactor vessel capsule withdrawal schedule for material irradiation surveillance purposes, stipulated in Table 4.2.1 of the licensee's submittal of August 30, 1985, versus that which was proposed in the April 11, 1988 submittal, (2)
The licensee was asked to reverify the main steam safety valve lift settings in Table 3.6-lA of the April 11, 1988 submittal, and (3)
The staff would further consider the proposed Technical Specifications 4.5 and 4.11 regarding the operability testing of the containment spray and the low head safety injection pumps.
