SUBJECT:
SUMMARY
OF MEETING HELD ON OCTOBER 11, 1984 TO DISCUSS FUEL ASSEMBLY RECONSTITUTION The subject meeting was held in Bethesda, Maryland between NRC and VEPCO representatives. A list of attendees is attached.
The purpose of the meeting was to allow VEPCO to present to the staff its proposed plan to reconstitute several Surry 1 fuel assemblies.
The assemblies to be reconstituted are from Surry 1, Cycle 6.
These assemblies had indications of fuel failures, presumably caused by debris in the reactor coolant system.
This debris is thought to be from the steam generator repair.
VEPCO will submit a license amendment if made necessary by any technical specification changes.
If no amendment is involved, VEPCO will provide a generic topical report.
