NSIC Gray File By letter dated May 17 and September 28s 1979, which were superceded by letters dated December 15, 1980, and March 25 and May 25, 1982, you sumitted a proposed inservice inspection program and request for relief from inspection requirements pursuant to 10 CFR 50.55a(g) for Surry Power Station, Unit Nos. 1 and 2.
This program pertains to the first 10 year inspection interval.
We have completed our review of the subject program and the results of our review are discussed in enclosure 1.
We have granted you relief as delineated in our Safety Evaluation which covers the requests in your December 15, 1980, as supplemented, submittals.
By letters dated January 7, March 7, April 14, and December 27, 1983, you submitted additional relief requests.
We have evaluated these relief requests in Enclosure 2 and have granted relief as indicated.
We have determined that where stated the Code requirements are impractical, the granting of these reliefs is authorized by law and will not endanger life or property or the common defense and security, and is otherwise in the public interest considering the burden that could result if they were imposed on your facilities.
A copy of the related Notice of Granting of Relief is enclosed.
