Box 26666 Richmond, Virginia 23261 By letter dated October 28, 1980, your Company requested that the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation (ONRR) review several proposed changes to the Surry Unit Nos. 1 and 2 Technical Specifications. The proposed changes relate to high energy p*ipe break, filters, and fire protection specifications.
Your application was accompanied by fees for Classes III and I totalling
$4,400.
The ONRR staff has completed a preliminary fee review of the above application.
Based on this review, it has been determined that this application involves consideration of three separate safety issues. Therefore, a Class IV fee of $12,300 is applicable for Unit I. It is requested that your Company remit an additional sum of $8,300 to this office. The Class I fee paid for Unit 2 is appropriate. If the final review of your application by the ONRR staff reflects that these fees are incorrect, an adjustment will be made.
In a letter dated November 17, 1980 (signed by B. R. Sylvia), a request was made that we reevaluate the Class III fee position taken in our October 30, 1980 letter to you regarding your May 16~ 1980 application on operable.
The ONRR staff is reevaluating the operable change.
As soon as this task is completed, we will advise you of the outcome.
