for the Surry 1 *and 2 facility, and to the discu*ssion of our findings held with
G. E. Kane, Operating .Supervisor a:t the condm;d.on of the inspection.
The inspection was an examination of the activities conducted undei; your license
as they .. relate. to radiation safety and to' compliance.with the Comrriis!:lion 1 s* rule.s*
and regulations*and the conditions of youi license. The inspe~tion consisted of
selective exa_ll.)i11ations of* .procedures and*. represen:tative records, interviews with
personnel, and observations by the inspector, :

During the inspection,:it was. found that certain activities under your license
appear to be in.noncompliance with NRC requirements.
These items and*references
to pertinent :requirements are listed in the Notice. of Violation enclosed herewith
as Appendix A *. This notice is sent to you pursuant to. the. provisions of Se.ction
2.201 .of. the NRC' s "Rules of Prac.tice,

your receipt, of this*notice, a written statement or explanation in.reply.including:
