Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Region III Exercise Report for the Artificial Island Nuclear Generating Station Enclosed is a letter from Mr. Dennis H. Kwiatkowski, Deputy Associate Director, Preparedness, Training, and Exercises Directorate, FEMA, dated December 22, 1993, transmitting the FEMA Region III report for the October 28, 1992 full-participation exercise at the Artificial Island Nuclear Generating Station.
There were no deficiencies identified during the exercise, and FEMA has concluded that offsite emergency preparedness is adequate to protect the health and safety of the public. However, the report identifies four Areas Requiring Corrective Action (ARCAs) and seven Planning Issues. We request that your staff follow up with offsite officials to resolve the identified ARCAs and Planning Issues prior to the next full-participation exercise.
