Combined Inspection Report Nos. 50-272/90-03 and 50-311/90-03
This letter refers to the routine safety inspection conducted by
Ms. A. E. Lopez and Mr. L. J. Prividy of this office on January 8-12, 1990,
at the Salem Units 1 and 2, Lower Alloways Township, New Jersey.
A
discussion of our findings was held by Ms. Lopez and Mr. Prividy with
Mr. L. Miller and other members of your staff at the conclusion of the
inspection.
Areas examined during this inspection are described in the NRC Region I
Inspection Report which is enclosed with this letter. Within these areas,
the inspection consisted of selective examinations of procedures and
representative records, interviews with plant staff, and observations by
the inspectors.
Our inspectors noted several minor problems during the inspection dealing with
the administration of the inservice ~esting program which are discussed in
paragraph 2.2.
These problems were discussed with your staff who proposed
appropriate solutions and tentative completion dates.
We believe your
continued attention to these matters will enhance the program.
Within the scope of this inspection no violations or unresolved items were
observed.
